Tuesday’s Treasures #2

I will be glad when garage sale and flea market season starts again.  Another bust in the way of finding treasures this past weekend.  It’s so hard when we have had unusually warm weather off and on the past couple of weeks and then it gets cold and snowy on the weekends.  I have spring fever so bad, it’s ridiculous!

Today’s treasures are some I picked up a few months back and are being used in my kitchen.

This sweet little cup is marked Winrose Collection USA on the bottom.  I only paid $1.00.  Yes, she has some wear on the golden edges, but I loved the little floral pattern on the front, so thought it would be a good piece to hold twist ties, my meat thermometer and other odds and ends that seem to want to accumulate around the sink in the kitchen.

I fell in love with this saucer and thought it would be perfect to hold my finger nail brush and a bar of soap on the counter.  There are no markings on the bottom.  The turquoise puff balls and pink plumes on the grasses are so delightful.  I just love it.  I paid $.99.

By the way, this nail brush, or surgical brushes as they are commonly called, are not only amazing for cleaning your hands, but they work well for cleaning fruits and vegetables and are fabulous for cleaning food graters, especially after grating cheese (I don’t have a dishwasher).  You can also use them to help keep your paint brushes clean but putting them in the bottom of a dish of water and running the paint brush bristles over them.  I will post links at the bottom of this post so you can get your own brushes.  I have them in both bathrooms, the kitchen and near the outdoor faucet in the summer.  To save money on the sterile surgery brushes, you can purchase “sensory” brushes.  They are virtually the same thing.

My favorite find from this particular shopping trip is this little angel who is perfect for holding my magic eraser sponges.  There is some light crazing on the back and a few paint chips on the tips of her shoes and wings, but overall she is in good condition.  Again, there are no markings on the bottom.  I paid $4, but she is priceless to me.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s edition of Tuesdays Treasures.  Happy Shopping everyone!
