Vintage Planters, Flower Frogs & Vases

frogs_vases

I recently acquired the three flower frogs on the right from a large estate auction a couple of months ago.  As soon as I saw them, I knew I had no desire to sell them.  I just think they are really neat, and to be honest, I don’t recall seeing too many flower frogs like this in my travels.  After trying to research them online, I found many that were similar, but none so far that were exactly alike.

I paid $40.55 for all three flower frog figurines.  The bird on the left with the pink base is marked Germany on the bottom with the number 425.  I believe it is worth at least $25.00.  The green frog on the left is also marked Germany with the number 603 on the bottom.  It has a little damage on the edge of his top hat that is in his hand, but I think he is still worth at least $25.00.

The tall heron flower frog is not marked on the bottom, but appears to be in perfect condition.  I can’t find any information on this guy, but I feel he should be worth at least $35.  If anyone out there has any information on these pieces, I’d love it if you could share the information in the comment section.

I picked up the little kitty and bird planters on the left for $4 each.  I think the kitty would also be a good place to store a sponge or scrubber next to the kitchen sink and if my little collection grows, that just may be where she will end up.  The McCoy pots both have hairline cracks but are solid and make great bases for my ceramic collection.  I believe I got them both for $4 each.

The flamingo vase/pitcher on the right was a birthday gift from my husband earlier this month.  I just love the bright colors and its large size.  There are no markings on the bottom but people online believe it is McCoy.  I haven’t found any information yet to confirm that.  If you’d like to know more about the little birdie planter on the left, check out this post.
